Benchmark Reports provide basic information on menu item components and menu item types. Foodservice manufacturers rely on Benchmark Reports to track critical menu performance measures including Category Incidence, Menu Item Count and Share, Item Frequency / Month, Sum and Share of Item Frequency and Item Type Performance Index.
Looking only at the Hot Dog category, K-12 marketers get to see a national representation of their items on the menu including exact details on menu naming terms. This information assists product development, promotion and recipe development.
Various Hot Dog and Corndog items are described on school menus using terminology that advertises the fare. Many times descriptions are simple as in Hot Dog, Corndog, Cheeseburger or Pancakes. Menu descriptions are now getting more exact and colorful as they become available to parents anxious to see what their children are eating. Appetite appeal is strong on the serving line and this is enhanced by descriptive menu item terminology. For Hot Dogs / Corndogs several descriptive terms are common, all of which have an associated share of use percentage.
BenchMark Reports and Menu Opportunity Reports provide insight for culinary product development, marketing and sales promotion teams. For more information, please contact Larry Atseff or Joe Brady at 708-386-7579.
